Information for the public

Going to counselling and choosing a counsellor is an important step for anyone. Seeking help for stressful situations, emotional upheaval or settling life balance issues reuires careful consideration. It is often helpful to talk to someone outside your family or usual circle of friends.

ACC was granted Accredited Register status by the Professional Standards Authority on 8th April 2015 and this leaflet Click here gives you some information about the importance of this and you can find more information at the Professional Standards Authority website Click here for website

This page links you to some helpful key questions such as ‘why choose an ACC counsellor?’, what questions to ask when first meeting the counsellor as this will aid you in building a safe environment and relationship from the outset.

Please note that the Register of counsellors only applies to those working in the UK. If you are seeking one of our counsellors working in Europe please use our ‘find a counsellor’ search facility. To go there Click here

Making a complaint

If the complaint is about a member of ACC staff or anything about the organisation then please click the link at the end of this sentence and scroll down the page till you get to Sending Feedback on ACC Staff Link.

If you have discovered your Find a counsellor facility is not working properly. How do I report this or give feedback?
Please email ACC office@acc-uk.org
