Lyn has been a member of the ACC since the 1990’s when she took a Level 3 Counsellor Training Course in Essex where she lived at the time. She now lives in the Midlands.
Lyn is an Accredited Counsellor and a qualified Supervisor and is currently in private practice based in her home in Coventry. Prior to this, she spent 16 years managing a counselling service affiliated to the ACC having helped to set this up in 2007. The provision of affordable counselling for those unable to afford a private therapist is something she feels is of great importance and she is involved in supporting and guiding those who are currently managing services affiliated to the ACC.
Lyn has recently gained a Masters’ qualification at Waverley Abbey College. Her dissertation was about the challenges Christian counsellors experience when working with clients who have sexual difficulties. Providing therapy for individuals with sexual problems and sexual compulsivity is one of her areas of expertise alongside working with complex trauma.
Before training as a counsellor, she worked as a secondary school teacher and she enjoys using her teaching skills to train adults. She has previously provided training on the Manna House Level 3 Course and also at ACC online conferences.
She has been married to Jeff for 45 years. They have four children and five grandchildren. They are active members of an Anglican Church.
