The Certificate in Counselling Skills & Theory (Level 3) is a tailor-made course, accredited by CPCAB. It offers an introduction to counselling, underpinned by a Christian worldview — providing a unique opportunity to study a professionally recognised course from an integrative Christian perspective.
This foundational counselling training is the first part of our CPCAB accredited psychotherapeutic training programme, offering students an introduction to a number of current treatment methods available, teaches the core counselling skills needed to support others sensitively and ethically, and provides an overview to some of the psychological issues commonly encountered when counselling (E.g. loss, depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse and eating disorders).
Network is proud of the quality and professionalism of its training programme. We base our teaching on the belief that all individuals are a complex unity of body, mind, soul and spirit. In recognising the spiritual aspect as universal, we offer a dimension to our courses that we believe is unique in counselling training. This Advanced Certificate course is suitable for students wishing to train as counsellors, and progress to an Advanced Diploma level training – with Network or elsewhere. This is Network’s flagship course. Over two years we build the theoretical framework, practical skills and personal development needed to work as a professional counsellor. It is suited to students who have completed substantial Certificate level training. What makes this course different is its emphasis on the integration of faith, spirituality and counselling practice. In addition to covering the same ground that is covered by comparable humanistic and Person-Centred Diploma courses, this course will also give you the opportunity to develop your understanding of human spirituality and to explore the interface between your own developing spirituality and your practice.
