ACC is very pleased to announce that the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) has, for the second year running, renewed our register of counsellors. Moreover the PSA have commended ACC for our complaints related ‘near miss’ reporting initiative. The PSA have also endorsed our desire to achieve greater diversity in governance structures. This year we had no instructions, and only this one ‘learning point’. This is an achievement to celebrate.
Kathy Spooner, ACC’s Director of Counselling and Psychotherapy, commented that ACC have demonstrated their continuing commitment to achieve high standards within the counselling profession. Being on a register gives ACC members parity in employment and importantly gives re-assurance to members of the public that our counsellors are suitably qualified and deemed to be safe to work with members of the public.
