Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to train as a relationship counsellor and put what you’ve learnt into practice on a placement? Marriage Care’s CRC (Certificate in Relationship Counselling) course will train you to counsel couples using an attachment and Emotionally Focused Therapy approach, and will provide you with a 70 hour placement to put your skills into practice. After completion of the CRC it is our hope that you would continue on with us benefitting from ongoing CPD, training opportunities and further support.
Marriage Care is a faith-based national charity providing nearly 6,500 relationship counselling sessions each year from 100 locations in England, Wales and Gibraltar. All our centres and services are run by volunteers and this means that we can provide counselling sessions on a donation basis, ensuring that everyone can access the support they need.
We provide an exceptionally high standard of training – our course weekends are residential to ensure trainees receive face-to-face training and support. Accommodation and meals are provided and travel expenses are covered. We provide supervision and insurance as well as a 70 hour placement (at a local Marriage Care centre near to you) as part of the course. All for a very competitive price of £1,800. Counsellors who continue with Marriage Care after the training will receive ongoing CPD, Supervision, local/regional support, travel expenses and insurance for a minimal commitment of just two counselling sessions per week.
The training will take place over four weekends in 2020 (dates TBC). Recruitment for the role will involve an interview at your local Marriage Care centre and participation in a national Selection Day. Training and Selection days will take place at Kent’s Hill Park Training and Conference Centre, Milton Keynes.
Please note you will need to hold a minimum Level 4 Diploma in Counselling (or equivelent) and have at least 100 hours of supervised practice, to enrol for this training.
