Pastoral Principles for Living Well Together – a resource from the Church of England
The Pastoral Advisory Group of the Church of England aims to improve the treatment of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT+) people and look at how our churches can be more welcoming places. The Group wants to encourage respectful theological discussion and identifies “six pervading evils”, which undermine good pastoral care “prejudice, silence, ignorance, fear, hypocrisy, prejudice and misuse of power.” It has produced a set of discussion cards to that address these issues. which can be downloaded in pdf from https://www.churchofengland.org/sites/default/files/2019-02/PAG-PP-website.pd or a set of discussion cards can be purchased from https://www.chpublishing.co.uk/books/9780715111550/pastoral-principles-cards

Self care and Caring for the carers
For those of us in caring roles learning how to care for ourselves is vital, but often ignored. This seminar was recorded originally for Spring Harvest at the height of the COVID-19 crisis, so some of the content relates to caring for ourselves as carers in dealing with that situation, but much of it is relevant to any time. Sue and Chris Monckton-Rickett are both Registered Accredited Counsellors with the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC) and so is the Chair of ACC. They have over 25 years of experience in counselling, training and retreat leading.
