AGM 2024

AGM 2024

We will start the day at 10am with training on spiritual abuse by our Chair Sue Monckton-Rickett; the AGM itself will take place from 1pm to 3.30pm.

10:00 - 12:15 Training on spiritual abuse

A 2018 survey commissioned by CCPAS (now thirtyone:eight) stated that two-thirds of respondents had said that they had been spiritually abused. At the time it raised controversy and many questions, which we are still grappling with today and will explore some of those questions in this workshop:

  • What is spiritual abuse?
  • Where and how does it occur?
  • How do we recognise it?
  • What is it’s impact?
  • How do we support and work with recovery for those who have been subject to spiritual abuse?
  • How do we grow health churches and organisations that prevent spiritual abuse?

Sue is Chair of ACC, counsellor, trainer and retreat leader. Since October 2020 she has chaired panels for the Church of England Interim Support Scheme for Survivors of Abuse.

13:00 - 15:30 AGM
