Tony Horsfall works as a training consultant for his own organisation, Charis Training. Trained at the London School of Theology, Tony and his wife Evelyn worked as missionaries in East Malaysia on the island of Borneo from 1975. They returned to England in 1983 when Tony became minister of a church in West Yorkshire, before moving on to head up the EQUIP training programme at Bawtry Hall near Doncaster.

Since 2002 he has worked as a freelance trainer, doing cross-cultural training, Myers-Briggs workshop, and leading retreats and Quiet Days both in this country and overseas.He is the author of several books: Rhythms of Grace (BRF 2012), Working from a place of rest (BRF 2010) and Mentoring for Spiritual Growth (BRF 2008).

A keen supporter of Barnsley FC, Tony has two grown-up children. He is part of the leadership team at Ackworth Community Church.

Sustaining yourself in ministry
These sessions will be based around the book ‘Working from a place of rest’ and will look at the example of Jesus in John 4 as a pattern for us in how to maintain vitality and effectiveness in our ministry. As those who regularly care for others it is vital that we give attention to the needs of our own souls.
