ACC's North West region stretches from and includes Manchester across to Liverpool in the south, northwards to the Scottish border and eastwards from the Irish Sea to the Pennines. Currently it has 154 members and 20 affiliates.
Its regional committee, comprising representatives from ACC recognised counselling agencies as well as sole practitioners and others with specialist input, organises usually two training days each year as well as a bi-annual conference. Details of forthcoming events are regularly posted on this page and are also included in the regular ACC NW newsletter, which is distributed at least twice a year to ACC members and others requesting it.
“ACC North West is here to support and equip Christian counsellors and pastoral carers in the North West,” says Sean Charlesworth, ACC North West representative. "We welcome especially those who have just moved into the region or have just discovered ACC North West and are looking either for suitable counselling/pastoral caring training or to network with other Christian counsellors in their local area."
To obtain a copy of the latest edition of ACC North West's newsletter, to discover more about its activities in the region or to obtain details of ACC counselling in your local area, please contact Richard Champness, ACC North West’s administrator. Tel: 01524 824 862. Email: rsc858@btinternet.com.
Each year ACC organises a busy schedule of both regional and national training events and conferences, covering a wide range of issues and topics relevant to its counselling and pastoral care members and to the everyday stresses of modern life.
The Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC) is a registered charity and the leading agency representing the voice of Christian counsellors and pastoral carers in the UK. Founded in 1992, it today represents around 2,000 members and 150 affiliate organisations.
ACC aims to be a catalyst for excellence through its standardisation of good practice; accreditation; the recognition of training; its journal “Accord” and its conferences.
